How the price is worked out
Each Krugerrand contains a set amount of fine gold. A 1oz coin holds one troy ounce, and the smaller coins hold a half, a quarter and a tenth of an ounce. The main part of the price is that gold content multiplied by the gold price in rand.
On top of that, buyers may pay a little more or less depending on the coin's condition and demand.
